The database contains more than 12,000 blood tests from 5,000 athletes and shows “the extraordinary extent of cheating by athletes at the world’s most prestigious events”.

Seven British athletes are alleged to have cheated while 10 medals won at the London 2012 Olympics were by athletes who have reportedly recorded dubious test results.
Britain’s Mo Farah and Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt are however not implicaated of any wrongdoing.
The database containing the results is owned by the IAAF but was released by a whistleblower, revealing that a third of medals (146, including 55 golds) in endurance events at the Olympics and World Championships between 2001 and 2012 were won by sportsmen and women with suspicious blood tests.
The awarded medals are yet to be taken away.

World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) president Sir Craig Reedie said: “WADA is very disturbed by these new allegations that have been raised by ARD; which will, once again, shake the foundation of clean athletes worldwide.”
